National Voters’ Day was celebrated at St. Blaise High School on 24th January to create awareness about voting as a fundamental right and responsibility of every citizen.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Mr. George Bunch and Mrs. Alka Gonsalves to inculcate democratic values and responsible citizenship among students.
A special assembly was presented by the students of Standard VII. Drawing competitions were organized for Standards V and VI, poster-making for Standards VII and VIII, and an essay-writing activity for Standard VIII.
To provide a hands-on experience of the electoral process, elections for the posts of Head Boy and Head Girl were also conducted in the school. Students of Standard IX further extended awareness through a public procession and a Rangoli competition highlighting the importance of elections in a democracy.
